Just checking old mail on here. Did you ever get the file I said I was going to send? I've had so many "issues" going on this yr. I'm doing good to remember my own name. Grin.
This is one of the most documented lines of MUIRs that I know of in the US, but ... seems to come to a screeching halt just where you mentioned. I have attempted to look at the Mormon records (which are some of the most extensive collections of genealogical info I know ... and it's free) ... for any Robert MUIR b. within 5 yrs. of 1709 who married any Katherine/Catherine and I can seem to come up with only 1 possibility ... Robert MUIR b. abt/ 1705 in Dalgety (Fife) who m. a Katherine MUIR (b. 1705 in Hamilton (Lanark) to John MUIR and Jonet BARR). John and Katherine were m. in Dalgety in 1730. I feel fairly confident that this may be Robert's line, but ... I would like to run it by some other folks in that line, since it's not "my" line.
BTW (By The Way), PLEASE write me at my e-mail addy and I will be glad to send you a text message, but be warned ... it's over 100 pages of material.
Welcome to MUIR Genealogy. I hope you can enjoy this page and be a contributory member on here. We have very little going on at this time, but ... would be quite happy to assist you in trying to find out more about your MUIRs. Please let us/me know which MUIRs you know about and/or which ones you are researching. I'll be glad to look around and see what I can find. I have a generic MUIR genealogical database that currently has almost 92,000 folks who are MUIRs and/or their near relatives.
