Although I have four Thomas Muirs on my family tree I am afraid that I cannot find one that fits with your ancestor. My ggg Grandfather's brother was a Thomas Muir born in 1771 but he married in 1805 in Culter in Lanarkshire. My Muir ancestors all came from the Lanarkshire/Peeblesshire border - I have found no links with Campsie. I am sorry not to have been able to help you.
