I'm going to be out of town for a few days. If you don't hear from me within a week, PLEASE write me to remind me.

Hello Randy
Thank you for the Welcome

Although I have Scottish antecedents no Muir/ Mure yet.

My interest is in a branch of my employers' family. That of George Mure MD RN 177-1858 who was a naval surgeon on board HMS Lancaster in the French Revolutionary Wars who lost is sight c. 1797-1801, & gained a naval pension. However he married & had family living in Edinburgh . He is said to have been from Minnigaff near Newton Stewart, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland

The family moved to various parts of the world - New Orleans LA , Mobile Alabama, Australia,
Do you have any information of this family...

I tried to attach here the first 4 generations of his tree - is this the right place -

Some Cut

Modified Register for George Mure , MD, RN,

First Generation

1. George Mure , MD, RN, was christened on 4 Dec 1777 in Munig Off Bliner sic., Kirkcubright , SCOTLAND. He died on 27 Mar 1858 in 35 Dublin St, Edinburgh.

Possibly - Muncraig , Borgue , Kirkcudbrightshire

[or Minnigaff, Kirkcudbrightshire, SCOT]

I will look for place to add my tree!!!

cheers Mark

Hi Randy,

Thanks for giving me access to your site.

I contacted you several years ago but you were unable to help me. The reason is that I did not have good information. I am happy to say I am just home from Glasgow where I was able to get copies of my grandparents birth certificates. There were a few surprises. I now have info you can add to your data base and who knows maybe link me.

How is the best way to share this with you?

I would also be interested in who you are connected to in Plymouth as my husbands family on his mothers side goes back to the Mayflower. She is a memeber of the Mayflower Society.

Thanks again,

Kathy

Tree: We didn't get the six inches of snow. But what we got was enough to take out the garden and everything else that was still growing
